Investment Objective
Total return with an emphasis on providing current income.
Strategy
Under normal market conditions, the Fund invests
at least 80% of its total net assets in income-paying publicly traded
common stocks, preferred stocks, and other equity-related instruments
of companies located in the Asia Pacific region. The Asia Pacific region
includes Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia,
New Zealand, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Sri Lanka,
Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.
Distributions
The Matthews Asia Dividend Fund intends to distribute
its dividends quarterly. Year end 2009 distributions were paid on December 9, 2009
to shareholders of record as of December 8,
2009. Year
end distributions are now available.
